In duo with Jonathan Sardelis, a performance, video and products from the same sport brand : Your Body Is a Work of Art. The performance and video are a training that use workout and art history clichés. The artitsts, using pseudonym, litterally perform art. The goal of Your Body Is a Work of Art is to sell a body ideal based on the interpretation of famous artworks. This transfert of pictural ideals to body ideals put the participant in a situation where the transformation goals make no sense and would create a monstruous body. This artwork explore themes of advertising, gender, workout, body ideals and the commercialisation of art.
This artwork is a sport, created by the artist, where one might score points by attracting bad luck on oneself. In this performance, you train your body according to absurd standards. The development of bodies and minds is almost always influenced by prevailing standards. Are they all more sane than those presented in this performance? It is also a nod to the existing spirituality in superstition and several aspects of life despite a society that claims to be atheist.
